Created and organized by Hype Foundation, Global Sport Innovation Competition is a global startup competition that brings together entrepreneurs from all around the world that believe in sport as a drive for innovation.
In his first edition, the competition has reached over 70 thousands innovators from 46 countries offering them the unique opportunity to showcase their business ideas. The jury will reward the best young company that proposes technologies or products not only in the field of sport but also wellness, active tourism and healthy lifestyle.
Eight regional competitions will be held around the world: U.S.A., U.K., Middle East, Europe, Balkans, Africa and Latin America. The winner of each regional round will present its product in front of a panel of international experts at the grand final in Rio 2016, during the Olympic Games.
We invited to Futur en Seine the winner of the European round, which will be hosted by the University of Trento on March, 31st at 6 PM in Trento (Italy). Ten startups will pitch in front of a public of investors, business angels and operating actors in the field of sport and innovation to secure a place at the finals in Rio.
The jury will be composed by Paolo Collini (Deputy Rector of the University of Trento), Amir Raveh (Managing Partner of Hype), Luca Bertone (TIM Working Capital), Claire Lewis (Strategy Consultant on Sport, Media and Tech), Burkhard Dümler (Director Program & Projects IT Innovation at Adidas) e Beatrice Agostini (Cassa Centrale).
Here the list of the selected startups for the European round: Sakproject (Portugal); MySnowMaps (Italy); Corehab (Italy); InoxSail (Italy); Leaos (Italy); PlayGineering (Latvia); Triboom (Italy); Nothingbutnet (Spain); BionicGym (Ireland), Itoi Lsr (Japan).
It will be a unique occasion to put the spotlight on the link between sport, formation, research, innovation and entrepreneurial development.
The winner will have the unique opportunity to showcase its innovation in the Innovations Village throughout the whole Festival. Moreover, it will have the chance to meet investors during the Pitch Sessions on Sport & Innovation organized by PRE and French Tech on Thursday, June 9th.
